Tourists have started to come in Manali following the relaxation of Covid guidelines. Various tourist spots surrounding Manali have also started witnessing coming back of tourists.
Budhi Prakash Thakur, the state convener of the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Himachal Pradesh, said that tourism is gaining its momentum once again. He said that visitors from Punjab, Haryana and Delhi have already started visiting Manali and the footfall is likely to increase during the Dussehra holidays. He appealed to the government to resume the intrastate Volvo and luxury buses, which constitute the backbone of the tourism industry in the state. “In the present situation, it is difficult to meet even the overhead costs. The government should provide relief to the people associated with the tourism industry till the situation improves,” said Thakur.
Anup Ram Thakur, Kullu-Manali Hoteliers’ Association president, said that an executive meeting was held where representatives urged the government to revive the prerequisite of Covid-negative report for entry in Himachal.
Raman Gharsangi, Manali SDM, said that influx of tourists have started in the state, and appealed to the people of Manali to take precautions in the present situation and follow the guidelines issued by the government.
