Traffic accident in Egypt kills three Chinese tourists, injures 8

A travel van that was carrying a group of 11 Chinese tourists overturned into a canal at the desert road as per Guo Hualong, director of the counselor affairs at the Chinese Embassy to Egypt.

 

He then went to add that the injured had been sent to two nearby hospitals.

 

Guo also mentioned that the tourist group was in Egypt was in a tour that was conducted by a Shenzhen-based travel agency. The local media of Egypt asserted that the overturning of the travel van was mainly caused by a three-wheeled motorized rickshaw and it is known as ‘tuk-tuk’ in Egypt.

 

Officials have said that two of the injured have been rushed to a hospital west of Alexandria and currently they are in a critical condition.

 

China has been among the leading sources of visitors in the last few years.

 

The number of Chinese tourists visiting Egypt increased by 94% in 2017 as compared to the previous year.
