Good morning, Ahmad. It’s a pleasure to have you with us today. Can you please introduce yourself and tell us about Voco by IHG?

Good morning, thank you for having me. My name is Ahmad Abou Saleh, and I’m the Senior Sales Manager at Voco by IHG. We are part of the larger InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), a global hospitality company. Our Voco property is located in the heart of West Bay, Doha. We offer 400 rooms, including studios, one-bedroom suites, two-bedroom suites, and three-bedroom suites, providing a variety of options for both business and leisure travelers. It’s a five-star business hotel, offering top-tier amenities and services.

Voco by IHG has been a part of this event before, correct? Can you share your thoughts on how the Qatar Travel Mart has evolved over the years?

Actually, this is the first time Voco by IHG is participating in the Qatar Travel Mart, although this is my third year attending the exhibition. Over the years, I’ve witnessed tremendous growth in the event. It’s developing year by year, and every edition brings new opportunities with more agencies and new markets coming in. There’s a great diversity of nationalities represented here, and it’s fantastic to see new destinations and hotels showcasing their offerings. The event continues to grow, making it an excellent platform for international business and collaboration.

This is exciting! Now, can you tell us more about the properties that you’re showcasing here at Qatar Travel Mart 2025? How do these properties cater to the international market, especially those with strong ties to the Middle East?

Of course! As part of InterContinental Hotels Group, we are showcasing a range of properties that cater to both the luxury and business sectors. We have four key properties on display here at the Qatar Travel Mart: Voco Doha, along with InterContinental, Holiday Inn, and Crowne Plaza Business Park. These properties offer a broad spectrum of services and facilities, from luxurious stays to more budget-friendly options for business travelers. Our properties are designed to cater to international markets, especially those with strong connections to the Middle East. We’re focused on providing top-tier experiences that cater to the needs of business professionals, families, and leisure travelers alike.

Technology is an integral part of the hospitality industry today. Can you tell us how technology is enhancing the guest experience at your properties? Have you implemented any specific tech innovations?

Absolutely, technology is rapidly transforming the hospitality industry. At Voco by IHG, we’ve embraced digital transformation to enhance the guest experience. For instance, guests can now book their stays directly through our mobile app or via corporate IDs, making the process faster and more convenient. We also offer digital check-ins and check-outs, which allows guests to bypass traditional methods, adding convenience and efficiency. Moreover, we gather guest feedback digitally, which helps us improve our services in real-time. These innovations ensure a seamless, personalized experience for our guests, reflecting our commitment to leveraging technology for a better hospitality experience.

Sustainability is an important issue in the hospitality industry. What steps is your brand taking to integrate sustainability into your hotel operations and minimize environmental impact?

Sustainability is a core value for us at Voco by IHG. We’ve implemented several eco-friendly practices, including reducing plastic use in amenities like shampoo and soap. We’re also mindful of our linen policies—linen is only changed upon request to conserve water and energy. Additionally, we promote sustainable practices through our Green Key certification and IHG’s Green Engage system, which measures our environmental impact and helps us implement more sustainable solutions. These measures reflect our commitment to operating responsibly and ensuring that our environmental footprint is as small as possible.

How does Voco by IHG incorporate the local culture and experiences into your properties? Can you share how you infuse the local culture into your offerings, especially for international guests?

At Voco by IHG, we believe in creating a culturally rich and immersive experience for our guests. We have a diverse team from all around the world, which allows us to blend global standards with local traditions.
