Otto de Vries, the CEO of the Association of Southern African Travel Agents, has recently explained that removing of restrictions would implement some sort of confidence and regularity in tourism and hospitality, making the sectors open as well as easy to access.

He said that it will definitely assist in reviving the sector as well. Also, we are happy on the part of our members who are entirely associated with the events related to business and sports, as the constraints impacted on their capacity in a severe way to get well in a meaningful way. However, it’s good news for all of us. David Frost, the CEO of the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association stated that the organisation greeted this raising of regulations with open arms.

He also added that it’s heartening to see that we are following the footsteps of science and grabbing a position with other countries of the world. Any travel related obstruction and constraint is harmful for the sector. We are keen on making the most of the pent-up demand that we are experiencing right now.

Rosemary Anderson, the chairperson of the Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa has explained that the federation was pretty excited that government had raised the limits of 50% of the capacity in terms of events, conferences, seminars, musical concerts and major stadium events.

This measure will assist tourism to get back on its feet as now we all truly have clearness in vision and confidence.
