Travelers from the US can continue to visit Greece until the end of the tourist season without requiring COVID-19 related restrictions, although the US witnessing a surge in the number of infections currently.
“Greece will continue to receive visitors from the US until the end of the tourist season,” said the Greece Minister of Tourism VassilisKikilias.
Kikilias stressed that the US is a significant market “which creates added value in the country’s economy. Visitors and tourism professionals in the United States of America, and of course, Greeks abroad, have shown and continue to show their love for Greece and their trust in the Greek tourism product.”
A recent NOTAM of the Greek Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) showed that Greece would not follow the Council of the EU advice to fasten its grip for US citizens, although the latter being profoundly hit by the Delta identified in 49 US countries.
Besides Greece, other European countries like Iceland, Ireland, Portugal and Croatia also refused the recommendations of the Council, allowing travelers from the US to enter these countries. However, Americans need to meet specific entry clausesbefore entering these countries.
