Carnival Cruise Line has announced significant updates to its loyalty program, aimed at rewarding frequent travellers with long-term benefits. These changes, scheduled to take effect with the launch of the new Carnival Rewards program on 1 June 2026, highlight the cruise line’s commitment to its loyal passengers. The enhancements are designed to create stronger connections with travellers, ensuring that those who return to Carnival for holidays and adventures at sea continue to receive added value.
The updated program will replace the existing VIFP Club with a refreshed system offering greater recognition. Guests who currently hold Diamond or Platinum status, or who achieve it before 31 May 2026, will automatically transition into the new Carnival Rewards program with upgraded privileges. The structure has been designed to reflect travel activity and spending patterns, allowing passengers to accumulate reward points tied to their cruise experiences.
One of the most notable changes is the introduction of lifetime Diamond status. Guests who reach Diamond level in the current VIFP Club by 31 May 2026 will secure Diamond recognition not only until 2032 but permanently within the new program. Platinum guests will also see meaningful rewards. Those who reach Platinum status by the May 2026 deadline will retain that level through 31 May 2028. In addition, they will enjoy a bi-annual boost of 10,000 status-qualifying stars once the program begins. This feature will provide a 20 percent head start towards retaining Platinum or achieving Diamond status in future cycles. Even if progress slows, Platinum members are guaranteed a minimum Gold status in every future cycle, ensuring consistent recognition during their travel with Carnival.

Carnival has also ensured that family travel remains rewarding. Children booked under a parent or adult guest who holds Diamond or Platinum status will enjoy the same level during the sailing. When these minors turn 18, they will be invited to opt in to maintain their earned recognition, provided they met the threshold by 31 May 2026. While the new system has been crafted with U.S. travellers in mind, Carnival is actively exploring ways to extend these enhanced rewards to its growing customer base in Canada and Australia.
