Trip.com Group has formally united with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s (GSTC) global set-up as a member. Trip.com Group is a prominent international travel service provider involvingTrip.com, Ctrip, Skyscanner and Qunar.
Across its platforms, Trip.com Group assists travelers everywhere in the world in making up-to-date and economical bookings for travel products and services.
Trip.com Group’s mission to ‘pursue the picture-perfect journey for a better world’ aims on the Group’s efforts on enlightening the groups and lives of the people they assist, motivating their assurance for being a more responsible industry frontrunner.
To achieve this goal, in the early months of this year, Trip.com Group declared its green tourism goals, covering three main areas: to launch more than 10,000 low-carbon travel products; to encourage sustainable travel and involve 100 million travelers in low-carbon practices; and further lowering carbon secretions across its own operations.
For delving into consumer sentiment on sustainable travel and sharing the outcomes with the industry, Trip.com Group led a survey that assembled responses from more than 7,700 travelers from 11 markets.
Trip.com Group’s Sustainable Travel Consumer Report 2022 disclosed that nearly eight in 10 (78.7%) travelers understand the significance of sustainable travel. The report highlights that the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be a substantial driver behind improved consumer consciousness of their travels’ influence on the planet. 67.7% of travelers are now okay to pay extra for sustainable choices.
