The 30th edition of TTF Kolkata added another feather to its cap by hosting the TTF Forum for the first time at the show venue. A panel discussion on “How Bangladeshi Tourists Outnumbered European Travellers to India (and Indian Tourists to Bangladesh did as well?)” took place at the Netaji Indoor Stadium on July 13 from 3 pm to 4 pm.

Taufiq Rahman, Chief Executive and Owner, Journey Plus; Syed Shaffat Uddin Ahmed, Managing Director, Market n-Trance Ltd; Mohiuddin Helal, CEO, River and Green Tours joined the panel as speakers.

The panel opened with a succinct presentation that established the context of throwing light upon India-Bangladesh tourism ties. Facts and figures revealed both countries continue to top Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) for each other, even though much remains to be explored in terms of travel exchange. The discussion touched upon many relevant areas of concern, prominently addressing the elephant in the room-visa regulation and processing issues. What followed was a lively interaction that touched upon the history of tourism in Bangladesh, need for tourism promotion and marketing and the relevance of travel trade shows like TTF. The panellists agreed upon the fact that a unifying platform like TTF Kolkata was crucial in bringing the travel industry stakeholders from both countries together for establishing tourism relationships.

The session also saw an intense Q&A session where the esteemed speakers answered many queries from the travel trade who attended the session. It concluded on a promising note, with the hope of India and Bangladesh endeavouring to improve their travel and tourism relationship.

The 9-city TTF series which began with TTF SOUTH (Hyderabad) between July 5 to 6 at the HICC witnessed the inaugural sessions of the TTF Forum on two industry-relevant topics: Decoding Corporate Travel Trends, What’s in Store for 2019 and Managing Large Corporate Travel Budgets. All the three panel sessions at both shows were jampacked, with great attendance from the regional travel trade. The TTF Forum will continue hosting panel discussions in upcoming editions of the TTF West series.

The TTF Forum is a knowledge sharing platform that brings together experts in travel to engage in panel discussions about the latest trends, challenges, innovations and much more.
