Two Air France pilots are suspended after they fought with each other in the cockpit. They have been in a row since June when they flew Airbus A320 from Geneva to Paris. Swiss new outlet said that they have been under scrutiny since last then.

During the chaos, members of the cabin crew entered the cockpit to stop the turmoil. The crew member stayed in the cockpit until the flight landed safely. However, local media said the incident did not affect the flight.

The incident triggered talks after a report got published by Air France’s investigation body. many accused the airline to have a culture that promotes rigour when it comes to safety protocols.

The argument began from a leaky engine while the aeroplane has been travelling through Africa. The incident has prompted the Air France investigators to call for tougher safety protocols.

According to the local media, the two pilots had a dispute shortly after they took off. They grabbed each other after one supposedly hit another. News of the fight emerged when they issued a report on Wednesday that said the pilots lacked respect procedure. Incidents of fuel lack have also been noticed earlier, in a flight from Brazzaville, the Republic of Congo to Paris in December 2020.

Three similar cases between 2017 and 2022 have been reported. The incident triggered an investigation where it is found that in such situations pilots are working with their own credentials and ideas. Air France reported that they are beginning safety audits and will implement stricter rules for safety. The airline will also make the training and reading of manuals stricter for the pilots.
