A two-day Tourism Conclave-2021 on “Roadmap for developing tourism in Himachal Pradesh” was held by the Institute of Vocational Studies (IVS-Tourism), Himachal Pradesh University (HPU). During the conclave, it was known that construction activities were going on and investment was made in tourism even during the pandemic, since asection of people losing their jobs turned entrepreneurs with tourism being a favorable venture in Himachal.
Chander Mohan Parsheera, Director, IVS, said that a large number of investors agreed to invest money in the tourism sector during the investors meet in 2019 and the government needs to check the current status of such projects and help them in quick approvals.
The conclave focused on solutions to bring Himachal on the list of top 10 tourism destinations. The four sub-themes of the conclave werethinking about tourism after Covid, enhancing private sector investment for infrastructure building, taking tourism to rural areas and establishing Himachal as a destination brand, saidParsheera.
