UK rain flood Britain

There are two flood warnings, which have been issued for parts of Scotland as the citizens of Britain and some other parts of UK, brace themselves for wet and unpredictable weather this week.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued two active flood warnings for two regions in Scotland. They warn that flooding is possible and urge residents to be prepared.

The flood alert is the lowest level of flood warning that can be issued and has been active for the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway since around 5pm on Sunday.

The warning will last until further notice but is thought to end on Monday morning. The Agency has also warned that “there is a risk of localised flooding impacts from surface water and smaller rivers”.

They added that the impacts may include flooding to low-lying land and roads and disruption to travel.

The residents in the affected regions have been advised to “remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property”.

The famous meteorologist Matt Taylor warned that the beginning of the week can expect some wet weather conditions. He said that in between 40 and 80mm of rain especially around the hills and the coasts of the west of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The poor weather is due to an area of low pressure coming to Britain from the Atlantic and working northwards. The Monday and Tuesday night are set to be particularly chilly, with the majority of areas seeing single digits between 6C and 8C.

However, things will warm up during the day as temperatures could reach up to 21C in parts of the south of England on Tuesday. The areas in the north will be colder, with the north of England being in the mid to high teens around 17C and is still 10 degree C to 12 degree C in Scotland.
