A yellow warning is in place as thunder, lighting and tornadoes are going to tear through parts of the U.K. on Wednesday. The Met Office has continued their weather warnings for thunderstorms from Tuesday and it will be in effect until 9pm tonight. The yellow warning is issued for south-east England regions including East of England, East Midlands, London and South East England, South West England, West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber.

Along with thunderstorm warnings, there are multiple flood alerts and warnings issued across England.

Due to a number of specific weather conditions, there is potential for a supercell occurring in Kent and Sussex. A supercell is a storm often referred to as rotating thunderstorm because of its persistently rotating updraft. A significant thunderstorm is expected in Kent.

Travel disruption and damage to vehicles, property and people are in the offing.

The Met Office has said there is a chance Wednesday’s weather conditions could cause flooding and damage to homes and buildings. Where flooding and lightning strikes occur, train and bus services may experience delays and even some cancellations. Homes and businesses could suffer power cuts and loss of services. Thunderstorms would be followed by gusty winds and torrential downpours.

People in U.K. have been advised not to use taps, sinks, phone and anything that conduct electricity.
