And in a sign of warmer weather to come, Monday will see sunny spells throughout much of the UK with just light rain to douse some regions.
Forecasters said that the beginning of the week will see warmer temperatures than have been felt in recent days and weeks.
It is also set to be much drier with sunshine scattered across most of the country.
In the west, light showers could strike while in the north it will be cloudier and murky at times.
But most of the country will see temperatures in the low 20s as well as plenty of sunshine.
A Met Office forecaster said that from Monday will be mainly fine and dry, with rather warm temperatures in the west initially and more widely later in the last week of August and into September. There will be increasing amounts of sunshine, with high pressure -likely to dominate, with settled conditions.
