HE Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade ended a victorious two-day visit to Florida, which aimed on increasing the bilateral UAE-US trade and business association. The minister’s journey to the Sunshine State is based on recent financial growth operations to the UAE by local South Florida representatives.

Minister Al Zeyoudi met with Michael Udine, Broward County Mayor, along with Dean Trantalis, the Ft. Lauderdale Mayor, Wayne Messam, the Miramar Mayor, and Jose “Pepe” Diaz, who is the Chairman of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners.

All of them talked about ways to improve partnership between the UAE and Florida, focusing on investment, city planning, healthcare and tourism.

Al Zeyoudi said that Florida is the commercial entryway to the Americas and the UAE is positioned at the junction of universal trade and commerce. It comes as no surprise that the Emirates is increasing close relations with this economically effervescent region. The UAE is happy to host numerous delegations of Florida mayors of late and it is committed toward increasing economic affiliation opportunities in the country.

Minister Zeyoudi took part in top business expansion and networking actions and meetings in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. In 2021, Florida exported more than $1 billion of merchandise to the U.A.E., thereby becoming one of the top 10 states selling overseas to the Emirates.
