Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) is introducing a new tourism business licensing initiative. This would support as well as speed up the growth of the tourism industry of emirate. A revised fee structure is being introduced which would be effective from January. Capped at Dh1,000 annually, this fee would be applicable to tourism business licenses.

To existing license holders, this will be welcome news, who are currently paying varying fee amounts, depending on the level of business activity. It would be a major boost given the challenges the sector has witnessed over the past 18 months.

The license fee cap in the emirate aims to profit current businesses and give confidence to the new investors to start ventures, elevating the competitiveness of Abu Dhabi as the foremost destination regionally and internationally with its dynamic leisure, culture and MICE tourism sectors.

The initiative comes as part of the Abu Dhabi Government’s wider strategic plans. This would help in further developing the sectors in the UAE capital and solidify its place as a preferred destination for travellers and for tourism investment.

The new business license offers an amended fixed-fee structure, with the blanket costs covering fees payable to several Abu Dhabi Government entities, including Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, Abu Dhabi Chamber membership fees and the Certificate of Conformity issuance fee.
