United Kingdom forecast reported huge snowfall as the temperature drop below zero.

According to the weather maps by WXCharts temperatures could plummet towards the end of the month bringing snow for parts of the United Kingdom.

Unusually the latest forecast suggests that snow won’t be limited to high ground and northern areas, as parts of the south could be covered with a chilly blanket of snow. Here’s the latest forecast.

Temperatures have returned to their usual wintery self this month after an unexpected heatwave at the start of the year saw temperatures climb to record highs.

The warmest New Year’s Day on record was achieved this year, as temperatures rose to 16.3C in St James’s Park, London. This smashed the previous record of 15.6C set in 1919 in Bude, Cornwall.

The forecasters predict that this week’s weather conditions will be normal for this time of year, with variable wintery conditions for most of the United Kingdom.

The Met Office forecast that some parts of the UK will experience patches of fog, light rain and drizzle which will be interspersed with dry patches between January 17 to January 20.

These conditions will be much more “settled” towards the end of the week, but temperatures could drop, introducing the “possibility of overnight frost and fog” for many from January 21 to January 30.

However, overall the Met Office said: Temperatures are expected to be around or slightly above average, although colder where fog persists by day. This relatively mild forecast stands in stark contrast to WXChart’s predictions.

According to weather maps by WXCharts, parts of the UK could be battered by snow towards the end of the month. On January 27, WXCharts forecasts snow flurries of up to 2cm could fall across parts of northern Scotland.

Snow will fall across parts of western Scotland on January 28. Snow could even fall in across parts of southern England as the mercury plummets below zero on January 29.
