Uluru Meeting PlaceThe ‘Red Centre’ of Australia is home to the Northern Territory’s and Australia’s most recognisable natural icon, Uluru (Ayers Rock), as well as the equally spectacular Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). These massive rock formations which dominate the desert landscape of Central Australia are located in the World Heritage-listed UIuru-Kata Tjuta National Park and are rightly renowned as natural wonders of the world.

This inspiring location also offers a purpose-built conference facility known as the Uluru Meeting Place. Situated at Voyages Ayers Rock Resort, it has a range of versatile venues for conferences and smaller meetings and includes two ballrooms which can seat up to 420 and 300 guests respectively.

Accommodation at the resort encompasses a total of 691 rooms which range from luxury resort through to well-priced hotel-style. From July 2018, this will include the 99-room Lost Camel Hotel which has recently undergone a contemporary refurbishment prior to re-joining the resort’s accommodation portfolio.

An annual calendar of exciting major events provides optional add-ons or inclusions for conference activities and social programs. These include the Tjungu Indigenous Cultural Festival (April), the award-winning Uluru Camel Cup Festival (May), the Australian Outback Marathon (July) and the Uluru Astronomy Weekend (September).

The globally-acclaimed installation ‘Field of Light’ at Uluru has been extended till 31 December 2020, due to strong interest. This once-in-a-lifetime display features more than 50,000 slender stems topped with frosted-glass spheres placed on the desert sands. Totally solar-powered, they provide an unforgettable vision when they “flower” into colour as pitch black darkness descends. A range of viewing options are available for conference groups.

Uluru Camel Tours operates the largest camel farm in Australia with over 60 working camels available for escorted camel rides. The Farm also has a multi-purpose entertainment venue – the extensive paved terrace has capacity for a stage, dance-floor, bar and barbecue facilities and now also boasts new lighting and audio visual facilities. The venue can cater for small gatherings through to large events involving hundreds of guests. The Camel Farm also has a permanent racetrack which is the location of the annual Uluru Camel Cup – bespoke camel races can be arranged specially for conference groups upon demand.
