The United Kingdom is expected to experience variable weather conditions, including showers, cloud cover, sunny spells, hail, and thunder in some parts. However, temperatures are forecasted to rise in the coming days to the highest recorded this year, with highs of 14 degree Celsius anticipated on Saturday afternoon in London and 16 degree Celsius on Sunday in the southeast.
According to Met Office forecaster Clare Nasir, the weather today will be predominantly rainy with cloud cover in most parts of the UK. This follows the brutal gales and downpours brought about by Storm Noa earlier in the week.
Nasir explained that “cloud and rain” are expected across Wales and the Midlands, and “southwards perhaps just clipping Lancashire.” Further north, the winds are light, and showers will be scattered and slow-moving. The central and southern regions will experience cloudy skies with spells of rain, and more persistent rain is expected in the far south, which will move over eastern and central England later. In southwestern areas, it will turn sunny later on.
Elsewhere, sunshine and showers will occur, which could be heavy in the afternoon, with hail and thunder expected in some areas. As such, people are advised to remain cautious and take appropriate precautions when venturing outside.
