UNWTO aids tourism promotion in Tenerife

In Europe, Tenerife in Canary Island is one of the most popular destinations, and in 2021, it welcomed around 2.7 million tourists alone. The destination has major touristic prospect. It’s focusing on developing its sector in accordance with the NWTO’s values and priorities.


The formal visit of Affiliate Member SPET to the headquarters of UNWTO gave an opportunity to make clear about the benefits of resources that are available already to the Affiliate Members, network talk about the institutional collaboration in the preparation of events.


Turismo de Tenerife presented its designs for “Global Summit Turismo” listed to take place in 2024, among the topics discussed, as the UNWTO put forward the effort “Best Tourism Villages” recognizing exceptional instance of rural tourism destinations with identified cultural and natural possessions, and promoting and safeguarding community-based values, lifestyle and products to give confidence to the participation of Tenerife.


Tenerife provides a wide assorted of attractions starting right from tourism, sports including climbing, hiking, biking routes and surfing, to astrotourism and gastrotourism.


SPET – TURISMO DE TENERIFE is all geared towards its prime activity of realization of actions for tourism promotion on the island of Tenerife. Therefore, within the island, it works in three areas which follow the quality increase, competitiveness, and sustainability as a tourist destination. They organize improvement works with other entities and institutions as well. The UNWTO is the United Nations dedicated agency promoting tourism as a vehicle.
