The UP state cabinet gave its consent for building an eco-tourism improvement board, with its headquarters in Lucknow, for the development and administration of infrastructure conveniences in forests and in outer areas of wildlife reserves.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the meeting of the state cabinet, which gave its nod regarding the setting up of the board.
The organization of the board would consist of an executive committee as well as the eco-tourism board being created to lure international visitors to Uttar Pradesh.
Eco-tourism infrastructure would be established on public private partnership ideal and attendants for jungle safaris would receive training from the forest department.
The CM would be the chairman of the board that would comprise an ex-officio and distinct invitees as members. Ministers for agriculture, forests, finance, tourism, ayush, rural development and irrigation, the chairman of UP Forest Corporation, chief wildlife warden, chief secretary and the head of forest department would also be the board members.
Uttar Pradesh boasts of a national park, 26 wildlife sanctuaries and 12 bird sanctuaries.
The UP cabinet gave its support to renovate Food Craft Institute, Aligarh as State Institute of Hotel Management. Consent was also given to a suggestion for creating new posts in the advanced institute that would carry on 17 types of graduate, post- graduate and diploma courses for 1,700 youths.
