After being closed for months, the United States is finally opening up its borders this November. The country had imposed a blanket ban on foreign travellers at the start of the pandemic in 2020.
Jeff Zients, the White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator, recently announced a new international air travel system.
This new system includes strict protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from passengers flying into the United States, protecting Americans and making international air travel safer.
So, fully vaccinated travellers can now head back to the US for travel and tourism. There will be no need for quarantining.
You might have been to Las Vegas and dreamt of chilling in New York. But, there are so many other beautiful destinations like Guam, Valley of Fire Nevada, Alaska, Illinois, New Hampshire and Glacier National Park in the huge country that is the US that are inviting tourist traffic currently.
Alaska
The State of Alaska does not require COVID-19 testing for travellers to enter the state. However, it is recommended that non-vaccinated travellers test prior to travel or take advantage of free and optional COVID-19 testing available at primary ports of entry.
Guam
All incoming travellers are subject to 10-day quarantine at a government facility, regardless of pre-arrival COVID-19 test results. However, those who are fully vaccinated with a US FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine (i.e. Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson/Janssen) may be exempt from quarantine. Glorious sunsets, starry night skies, rolling mountains and valleys help paint a picture of what you’ll find here.
Valley of Fire, Nevada
If you’re looking for an experience that you’ll never be able to forget, the Valley of Fire is the perfect destination for you. A must-visit place for rock climbers, this state park is a hidden gem that has breathtaking landscapes, and an otherworldly charm. The red, orange and pink canyons also provide opportunities for those Insta-worthy pictures.
Illinois
Unvaccinated people travelling from these states and territories are advised to obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Chicago or quarantine for a 10-day period upon arrival. Illinois has many smaller industrial cities, bountiful natural resources, and intense agricultural productivity, especially in its central region that are worth a watch for travellers.
New Hampshire
Domestic travellers no longer need to quarantine upon entering New Hampshire, although people are recommended to still follow CDC’s travel guidance. This easy-to-reach US destination offers natural attractions and plenty of outdoor activities and that too free of cost.
Glacier National Park, Montana
Consistent with CDC guidance regarding areas of substantial or high transmission, visitors to Glacier National Park, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear a mask inside all park buildings. A remote and breathtaking destination, this national park is pristine. It is a great place for avid nature enthusiasts and people who love hiking, trekking, and other outdoor activities.
