After May 30, 2023, your journey to the United States (US) will be more expensive than it is today. According to sources, the US is raising visa processing fees for visiting visas (for business or tourism) and Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) applications (for students and exchange visitors) from INR 13,138 to INR 15,190 ($160-$185).

This new increase in visa processing fees will take effect from May 30. Those who have already paid for their visa application will not be charged any further fees.

This cost increase does not apply to consular fees or the remission of the two-year residence requirement charge for some exchange visitors to the United States.

Individuals entering the nation for business, travel, students (NIV), temporary employees (from $190 to $205), and those asking for an E-category visa (from $205 to $315) will feel the hike. The precise amount of the visa processing costs in Indian rupee will be determined by the prevailing exchange rate at the time of application.

To mention a few, renowned cities in the United States include New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, Miami, Las Vegas, Honolulu (Hawaii), and Orlando. Every year, millions of travellers visit popular tourist destinations such as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, Niagara Falls in New York, the Statue of Liberty in New York City, the White House in Washington DC, Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, and Walt Disney World in Florida, to mention a few.
