The United States Travel Association has launched an advertising campaign with the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB) to influence the political leaders and promote the economic benefits of travel.
The multifaceted campaign featured a four-story billboard in the outfield of National Park installed in time for Opening Day.
For the duration of the 2019 season the massive billboard will remain in the MLB ballpark and the U.S Travel Association officials will be expanding the advertising campaign to other vital platforms and locations.
This will include a billboard advertisement on Southern Boulevard in Palm Beach County, Florida that will be at the main access point from Palm Beach International Airport.
U.S. Travel vice president Tori Barnes said that they have a potent message that travel is a key economic driver, jobs creator and positive contributor to the U.S. trade balance—and they want leaders to be thinking about it even when they’re not at the office.
Sporting events is being used by the U.S. Travel Association as a means to stress the importance of travel.
Digital billboard at the Honda Classic in February was used, there was a a geo-fence social media campaign around Mar-a-Lago.
With the 2020 election cycle, the organization is examining the future opportunities at critical sites, this will be including crucial primary states and convention and debate sites.
