The Victorian government officials have expressed their deep concern as the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Victoria continues to worsen.
It is recorded that the highest case numbers in Australia since the pandemic began. Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced that there had been a whopping 825 new cases of community transmission in her state overnight and another three days.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian warned that the “handful” of residents still doing the wrong thing were having “catastrophic consequences” on the lives of everyone else, a sentiment repeated by Health Minister Brad Hazzard – though he didn’t mince his words as much.
He also reported that there are those amongst them who don’t seem to give a damn. They are out attending parties, they are out doing what they have been told not to do, facilitating the spread of the virus.
Meanwhile in Victoria, Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed that his state’s regions would enter lockdown as of 1pm today, and announced further restrictions for childcare centres and “high risk” industries.
