Vietnam launches a rural tourism platform, promoting sustainability, tradition, and local charm while enhancing agriculture and eco-tourism experiences.
Amid the growing preference for green, safe, and health-conscious travel experiences, the tourism and rural agriculture sectors have joined forces to advance agricultural and rural tourism products. This collaboration aims to meet the evolving and diverse demands of modern travelers. To align with the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism’s mandate for implementing the Rural Tourism Development Program as part of the 2021-2025 New Rural Area Development initiative, the Tourism Information Technology Center has unveiled a dedicated platform to promote rural tourism. This initiative emphasizes the unique potential and strengths of rural tourism while raising public awareness about its significance in preserving traditional values through sustainable, inclusive, and multi-faceted development.
This effort also seeks to highlight rural tourism as a cornerstone for leveraging agriculture, craft villages, cultural heritage, and local ecosystems. By doing so, it contributes to boosting tourism in rural and remote areas, enhancing agricultural quality, improving the living standards of farmers, and increasing the economic value of tourism services within agricultural and rural activities sustainably.
The specialized rural tourism page on the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism’s official website serves as a hub for policy dissemination, offering guidance and support for managing and developing rural tourism. It provides up-to-date information about tourism-related events, local activities, cultural festivals, and initiatives tied to rural tourism.

Additionally, the platform introduces exemplary domestic and international practices in rural tourism development, including green tourism, sustainable tourism, eco-tourism, community-based tourism, and digital transformation. It showcases the beauty and potential of rural destinations, tourism programs, tours, and related services. Visitors can also explore agricultural tourism products, OCOP-certified items, and regional specialties. By drawing more travelers to experience rural life, shop for local goods, and engage with agricultural activities, the initiative fosters economic growth and enhances the value of rural tourism in Vietnam.
