Vietnam will reopen borders for international tourism from March 15. Foreign travelers aged 12 and over need to prove that they have been fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19, and produce a negative test result as required by local health authorities.

The Vietnamese government agreed to reopen borders for international tourism starting from March 15.
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has approved a proposal by ministries regarding reopening tourism in line with safe and flexible adaptation to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dam requested competent authorities to immediately announce a detailed reopening plan for localities nationwide, and also propose visa issuance policy for international arrivals.

At a meeting, the tourism, health, foreign affairs and transport ministries proposed that the government restart the unilateral visa exemption policy for 13 countries and bilateral visa exemption regime for 88 countries and regions.
As per the proposal, foreign tourists arriving in Vietnam will no longer need to book tour packages with designated travel agencies.
