Communities all over Virginia are all set to implement fresh new initiatives related to tourism. They’ll be heartening up people to make decisions to explore places in Virginia rather than exiting the state and visiting other destinations.

Even though the pandemic is yet to get over, tourism officials in Virginia declare that it’s the right time to go for a road trip. This is the reason they’re hitting the accelerator on DRIVE 2.0, transferring $10,000 grants to Virginia’s 27 communities starting right from Scott County, Alleghany Highlands to the Town of Damascus and Fairfax County.
Susan Payne is the chairwoman of the Virginia Tourism Corporation.

Susan said that on vacation, driving instead of flying away or running off from the state should be avoided. People should stay in the state and visit whatever is available in Virginia.

There are proposals to build a hub and spoke model, recognizing regional entices and hubs like Virginia Beach or Busch Gardens. Caroline Logan is Virginia Tourism Corporation’s director of communications at this moment.

Logan explains that people are coming to Virginia. Logan added that visitors want to experience these well-known destinations along with the attractions. Now, with the hub-and-spoke model, efforts would be made to put in order other attractions as the tourists are here. So, they might be going to Virginia Beach wherein they’re definitely going to see a museum. They’re certainly going to explore a winery.
