“Visit Siem Reap 2024″ aims to promote business tourism in Cambodia.
The COVID-19 pandemic has made Cambodia’s tourism sector especially Siem Reap worse off since 2020.
It is in combination with with the global economic crisis.
To combat this The Royal Government of Cambodia led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, has just decided to launch the program “Visit Siem Reap 2024”.
It has also decided to make other interventions to promote better tourism activities in Siem Reap.
In an interview Ms. Chhay Sivlin, President of the Cambodian Tourism Association (CATA), noted that tourism activities in Siem Reap have resumed in 2023.
She said tourism operators were also returning to the tourism industry. These o[eratord been under suspension during the COVID-19 crisis.
The presence of Siem Reap Angkor International Airport and the launch of “Visit Siem Reap 2024” will be a new energy for tourism in Siem Reap. This will be in combination with other government interventions.
Ms. Chhay expressed optimism about this.
The Siem Reap Angkor International Airport which was officially inaugurated on November 16, 2023 will provide a flow of tourism from Europe and the United States.
It will provide a thrust to tourism to other countries that previously could not fly directly to Siem Reap.
Ms. Chhay also expressed hope about this.
At the same time, Ms. Chhay also welcomed and was very pleased with the launch of various interventions of the Royal Government to save the tourism sector in Siem Reap.
