After May 30 this year, a visit to the US would cost more compared to the current charges.

The US is increasing the charges for visa processing for visitor visas, applicable for business or tourism as well as non-immigrant visa (NIV) applications, which are relevant for students and exchange tourists from INR 13,138 to INR 15,190 ($160-$185).

This new increase in fees regarding visa processing will come into effect from May 30. However, those by now having paid for the visa application would not have to pay the extra charges.

However, this increase in the fees is not related to the consular charges. The waiver of the two-year residency requires payment for certain exchange visitors to the US.

The US is home to a lot of well-known cities like New York City, Washington, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Honolulu (Hawaii), Miami and Orlando among many others. Famous tourist spots like the Grand Canyon in Arizona, the Statue of Liberty in New York City, White House in Washington DC, Niagara Falls in New York, Walt Disney World in Florida and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota among several others attracts millions of travellers each year.

The weather conditions in the US remains the finest in spring, i.e. April-May and also during autumn, i.e. September-October. Some areas of the US like Florida and Texas become very hot during the summer time.

These places are excellent to visit during spring –Antelope Valley Poppy Preserve in California, Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina and Tennessee border, the Florida Keys, Anchorage in Alaska and Joshua Tree National Park in California are among few must-see places.
