Increase in international visitors and the rising popularity of staycations have provided a boost up to the tourism sector, as per the research.
A survey of 100 of its members by the Irish Hotels Federation discovered that around three quarters of hotel and guesthouse owners reported a growth in trade in the previous year.
The IHF, which lobbies on behalf of the hotel sector, explained that business had developed due to an increase in staycations, along with an increase in the number of visitors from North America and continental Europe.
Nevertheless, they have warned of the probable negative impact on the drop in visitors from the UK could have.
