At its annual business meeting on Wednesday, VisitPittsburgh, the region’s official tourism marketing and promotions agency, announced that it has appointed a new chairperson and two new members to its board of directors.

Meredith Meyer Grelli, the co-founder and co-owner of Wigle Whiskey and Threadbare Cider & Mead, will serve as chairperson of the board.

Meyer Grelli takes over from outgoing chairman, Timothy Hudak, CEO and member of Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott LLC.

Hudak will continue to serve as an officer on the board, in addition to Vice Chairperson Michele Meloy Burchfield, co-founder and CEO of Blume Honey Water and Treasurer Troy Schooley, CEO of P3R.

Before starting Wigle Whiskey and Threadbare Cider & Mead, Meyer Grelli worked in brand recognition for Kraft Heinz Co. She also serves on the board of the Carnegie Science Center.

The VisitPittsburgh Board of Directors will not skip a beat under the guidance of new Chairperson Meredith Meyer Grelli, said Hudak.

Meredith is one of the region’s most respected entrepreneurs. As Co-Founder/Co-Owner of Wigle Whiskey and Threadbare Cider & Mead, she understands how critically important a healthy travel economy is for a destination’s hospitality industry.

And, her past and current experience in brand management will serve VisitPittsburgh well as the organization moves forward with exciting plans for 2022.

VisitPittsburgh also announced that two new members were elected to the board.

They are Laila Brock, who is vice president, sponsorship sales and operations for JMI Sports, and Perry Ivery, general manager of The Oakland Hotel, Marriott Autograph Collection.

Ivery will serve as secretary to the board. Ivery also serves as treasurer on the board of directors for the Greater Pittsburgh Hotel Association.

VisitPittsburgh President and CEO Jerad Bachar said that they have a distinguished group of volunteer board members who provide us with sound guidance and support. They are critical to our collective success.

He looks forward to working with Meredith and the entire board, including our newest members, as we continue to build back the travel economy for Allegheny County.
