Voyage Indigenous Tourism Australia has appointed Telco Service Australia (TSA) in Western Australia as its new call centre provider, a move which will help the business boost its employment of Indigenous Australians.

It marks the beginning of a new hybrid model of communication for Voyages Travel Centre, which will communicate with guests and trade partners internally through a team in the company’s Sydney head office in Sydney as well as through an outsourced provider in Perth.

Not only does the appointment of TSA provide us with sophisticated customer experience technology and exemplary service but also most importantly, helps us to take a big step forward in delivering a critical goal of growing Indigenous employment said Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia CEO Matthew Cameron-Smith.

Currently over one third of employees at Voyages are Indigenous Australians.

Voyages operates the National Indigenous Training Academy which supports young Indigenous Australians to forge career paths in Retail, Horticulture, Hospitality and Tourism at Voyages properties.

Over 600 graduates have participated in the Academy to date.

Cameron-Smith said that they are extremely proud of these Indigenous employment and training levels, but we are never satisfied with standing still and constantly looking for ways of improving these numbers.
