Anmol Gagan Mann, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, discussed the Water Tourism Policy 2023 and Adventure Tourism Policy 2023, which seeks to boost tourism in Punjab.
The minister stated that these two policies were developed after discussions with tourism industry professionals. She added that these policies are a specific part of the Punjab government’s efforts to strengthen the tourism sector in Punjab.
She also stated that river rafting, boating, water sports, and other water-based tourism activities will be encouraged in Punjab under the Water Tourism Policy 2023. She stated that this goal includes constructing new infrastructure connected to water tourism in order to attract tourists from all over the world.
Aside from that, she stated that the Adventure Tourism Policy 2023 is aimed at encouraging adventure tourism activities in the state such as trekking, camping, and paragliding. The goal of this initiative, she explained, is to establish additional adventure tourism destinations in Punjab.
According to the cabinet minister, tourism is an essential area for strengthening the Punjab economy, and the state government is working hard to grow it further. She went on to say that, thanks to the Water Tourism Policy 2023 and the Adventure Tourism Policy 2023, Punjab would soon be the country’s main tourism destination.
The minister went on to say that the new policies implemented by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will be extremely useful in terms of providing jobs for the state’s youth in the tourism sector and boosting the local economy.
