After refurbishment, Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica opened an over-the-water wedding chapel and Latitudes over-water bar. The all-inclusive resort includes swim-up suites, two restaurants and a refurbished lobby and main bar. Built just off the beach, the bar features hammocks suspended above the water, in which guests can relax.
It is the second property from Sandals in Jamaica. The first is at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica.
The Over-the-Water Serenity Wedding Chapel (pictured) has a glass floor aisle and can host up to 40 guests for weddings. A new conference centre is available to groups staying on resort. The resort also features a new Palms Bar, and The Jerk Shack. The latter offers Jamaican cuisine. The Jerk Shack opened in autumn 2018.
Butch’s Steak & Seafood is the new dining options. It is named after Sandals Resorts International’s founder and chairman, Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart – and Soy, which serves sushi and Asian cuisine.
Sandals Montego Bay was the first resort opened by Sandals Resorts in 1981 and is described by Stewart as the brand’s ‘hallmark resort’.
Sandals Montego Bay is set along the best and most exclusive white-sand beach in Jamaica, where offshore reefs create the calmest waters for leisure swims.
