Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai welcomes The Year of The Rabbit, with a grand display of traditional festivities honouring Chinese culture. From January 21 to February 11, 2023, guests can enjoy an extended celebration of the good fortune that the Lunar New Year brings, with authentic delicacies from Chef Lin Lin Yang’s kitchen at the Hotel’s stylishly modern, pan-Asian restaurant San:Qi. Festive decor in red and gold, and live entertainment in the form of a traditional lion dance promises to lift spirits as it augurs the auspiciousness that is the hallmark of this popular celebration.

Flavours of China

This new year, San:Qi at Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai showcases Chef Lin Lin Yang, who has put together a stellar gastronomic journey that takes guests from the bustling streets of Hong Kong to the surreal skyline of Shanghai, in one momentous feast. Diners begin with a stirring selection of salads, including a Sichuan spicy dry lamb with walnut and sesame seeds, and the more traditional qian long Chinese cabbage. Made-to-order are wholesome gan lian cai fried rice and wok fried chicken in yellow bean sauce, while a steam lobster with glass noodles golden garlic sauce and braised king prawn add an extra ounce or two of sizzle to this sensational spread.

This special Lunar New Year menu is available over lunch and dinner between January 21 and February 11, 2023 at the award-winning restaurant San:Qi.

Traditional Lion Dances to Start a New Year

Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai will enthusiastically welcome the arrival of the Year of the Rabbit with the awakening of the lion performances. Exclusively for dinner on the January 21 and 22 and for a lavish brunch on January 22, 2023, energetic lion dance performers trained in the renowned Yau Kung Moon discipline will dance to the beat of gongs and drums, while weaving their way through the Hotel’s courtyard and marching down the Hotel’s tree lined front drive, dancing around the restaurant, and then making their way towards the Hotel’s entrance. With strength, gracefulness, and speed, the lions shall perform stunts to collect lettuce, a symbol of wealth and good luck, sharing blessings of good fortune and luck with guests.

Widely commemorated across South-East Asia and the Far East, the Lunar New Year is an especially auspicious occasion for families, for whom, sharing a meal in celebration is an age-old tradition.
