The Tourism Minister of West India’s one of the most favoured beach capitals Goa and Goa Tourism Development Corporation is planning for Shigmo Festival which will begin from March 3, 2018.
Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman Nilesh Cabral convened a meeting along with all other officials and representatives from the government, Goa police, traffic police, and municipal bodies to discuss preparations for Shigmo Festival.
The Department of Tourism of Goa points to attract more international tourists during Shigmo which is Goa’s biggest spring festival will be celebrated over a fortnight with much enjoyment and excitement in all the respective beaches in Goa.
In the meeting, all the tourism and the municipal officials deliberated in detail on the drift parade of schedules, routes and other arrangements.
There was a strong importance that all float parades should start on time and entries for the float parades should be submitted at least eight days in advance to the respective committees.
In order to make sure a smooth conduct of the float parade, suggestions were made that Romtamel should start at around 1600 hrs pm and the float parades by 1800 hrs so that all parades conclude latest by 2200 hrs.
