Arusha is home to numerous safari companies, as well as Tanzania’s national zoo and botanical gardens. The Safari Museum showcases the country’s rich wildlife heritage and is also located in Arusha.

Tanzania is also home to the Great Rift Valley, which runs along the country’s length and is a major geographic feature.

The fame of Mt. Kilimanjaro is phenomenal of being Africa’s tallest mountain. Among the top fun facts of Tanzania is that this Mountain towers high in the plains of Tanzania measuring 19,341 ft.

Serengeti National Park is one of the world’s renowned wildlife sanctuaries with thousands of games spread across the grass-ridden plains of the park.

Hot Air Balloon Safari

An unforgettable safari adventure awaits you with a hot air balloon ride over Serengeti National Park. Wild animals such as wildebeest, lions, gazelles, and a variety of bird species can be seen in their natural environment while being feet above the ground.

Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is one of the oldest parks in Africa and is located just outside of the Arusha City Centre. Arusha National Park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, spotted deer, and many other species. Arusha National Park is also home to many attractions, including the Arusha Elephant Orphanage, which is home to rescue elephants.

Mt. Meru

Mount Meru is one of the highest mountains in Africa and the highest in Tanzania. It is a popular trek for those looking to experience the region’s spectacular scenery without the extreme altitude of a climb on Mount Kilimanjaro. The three-day trek takes hikers through the lush forest of the Virunga Volcanoes Reserve, home to hundreds of species of plants and animals that live nowhere else on Earth.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Arusha is from June to October, especially dry season. This place is easier to spot the wildlife – since they normally gather around the waterholes, rainfall is minimal, vegetation is not too thick and mosquitoes levels are reduced.

Getting There

Get flights from London to Zanzibar that will take about 11 hours 45 minutes. The flights from Manchester to Dar es Salaam is around 12 hours 45 minutes. The flights from Birmingham to Zanzibar is about 12 hours 35 minutes. The flights from Glasgow to Dar es Salaam is around 13 hours 20 minutes.

Visa

The history of the country dates back to 1952, when it was established and is today’s home to the big five and a wildebeest migration spectacle in the world. The visas are available upon arrival in Tanzania, whether you arrive at the airport or cross the border. For non-US nationals, a visa on arrival costs $50, and for US citizens, it costs $100.
