marriott-hotelsOn Tuesday the city of Wichita Falls declared that its financing partner Gatehouse Capital Corporation has secured a franchise agreement with Marriott International company for a Delta by Marriott Hotel at the Multi-Purpose Events Calendar grounds.
The city and the gatehouse were previously banking on a Doubletree by Hilton hotel.
However recently it has altered the direction of the project. The 150-room facility is a full-service, upscale hotel with all the new amenities the city is optimistic for, with an aim to attract larger conventions and other events to this city.
Abilene is working on a similar project to construct a downtown convention hotel.
And, the city is working with Garfield Public Private on this project. Gatehouse continues to negotiate financial terms for the Wichita Falls project to become a reality soon.
Marriott is the largest hotel company in the world and is grooming carefully their Delta brand as a strong rival with Doubletree. The hotel chain also mentioned that their Delta models compete as an effectual full-service cost model for various prospective owners.
Such a strong efficiency might also imply a cost savings to the city and Gatehouse of about $1 million.
