Wisconsin Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett told a regional news media that the conference would focus on discussions and positive industry updates.
In the last 6 years tourism has increased by nearly 35% in Wisconsin. For the first time ever they had hit the $20 billion mark and therefore it is an economic powerhouse.
The industry also bumped the job market up 12% leading to the creation of more than 23,000 jobs in the last 6 years. Klett mentioned that the tourism numbers has escalated in the northwestern portion of Wisconsin and the Northwoods. But since the tourism sector is up the unemployment rate if the state is quite down and therefore the tourism industry here has been confronting with challenges.
The conference will officially start on Monday morning. Governor Scott Walker is scheduled to be there to make the opening address at the event.
