Women in TAAI and Tourism (WITT) is a new enterprise by the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI). It held its first conclave in New Delhi celebrating empowerment of women. The conclave turned out to be a success, with more than 200 TAAI and WITT present during the occasion. WITT was started in 2021 by TAAI president Jyoti Mayal.
The event showcased women’s contribution in varied sectors. Jyoti Mayal shared the three steps to entrepreneurship, leadership and employment regarding which women are contributing on a global scale. Mayal said that women comprise a pivotal part of the travel, tourism and hospitality sector.
WITT’s main objective is to engage ‘women in tourism’ and empower women in India. Praveen Kumar, the Former Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), thanked WITT for arrange a conclave like this. He said that women’s role in travel and tourism need to be brought to limelight, so that women get their due recognition and development.
