World Travel Awards declared the names of its Asia 2020 winners

World Travel Awards, one of the top award programs in tourism and hospitality sector has recently disclosed the names of its Asia 2020 winners. This news however overlaps with its inaugural Asia Winners Day.


India has successfully survived the stiff-neck competition and emerged as ‘Asia’s Leading Destination’ in the award, as the Philippines was recognized with awards for ‘Asia’s Leading Beach Destination’ and ‘Asia’s Leading Dive Destination’.


Sundry adrenaline offerings of Sri Lanka made the country garb the title of ‘Asia’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination’.


The famous Raffles Singapore in the hospitality sector was voted as the ‘Leading Hotel’ in Asia, Bvlgari Resort Bali got ‘Asia’s Leading Resort’ award, and the paradise escape Amanpulo, Philippines named ‘Asia’s Leading Private Island Resort’.


The enormous InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort in Vietnam grabbed the titles like ‘Asia’s Leading Luxury Resort’ and ‘Asia’s Leading Green Resort’.


The captivating combination of French Indochine haute couture in a mountain setting led Hotel de la Coupole, MGallery Sapa got voted ‘Asia’s Leading Design Hotel’.


The landmark Tower Club at lebua, Bangkok, picked up ‘Asia’s Leading Luxury All Suite Hotel’ award.


Sri Lanka’s Aarunya Nature Resort & Spa got presented as ‘Asia’s Leading Boutique Resort’.


Conrad Hangzhou, China was voted ‘Asia’s Leading New Hotel’ and Premier Village Ha Long Bay Resort, Vietnam was named ‘Asia’s Leading New Resort’, in the newcomer categories.


A year-long search answered to the top travel, tourism and hospitality brands of the world.


Travel industry professionals and the public had cast their votes for the award with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner.


To quote Graham Cooke, founder, World Travel Awards, “Our winners represent the very best of Asia’s travel and tourism sector and my congratulations to each of them. They have all demonstrated remarkable resilience in a year of unprecedented challenges.”


He added: “The World Travel Awards 2020 programme received a record number of votes cast by the public.


“This shows that the appetite for travel and tourism has never been stronger and bodes well for the industry’s future as the global recovery begins.”
