‘World’s coolest winter’ campaign in UAE witnesses major rise in local tourism

At Expo 2020 Dubai site on December 15, 2021, His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, introduced the second season of the ‘World’s Coolest Winter’ campaign. The second edition expanded on the previous year’s campaign. It covered domestic as well as foreign tourism.


The second edition of the ‘World’s Coolest Winter’ campaign in UAE has ended quite successfully, boosting domestic tourism and a significant revenue rise for the hotel operators.


In the second edition, the number of domestic tourists increased to 1.3 million compared to 950,000 in the previous edition. It’s a rise of 36 per cent, as per the UAE Government Media Office announcement made on Sunday.


During this time, as the rate of occupancy of hotel establishments reached 73 per cent compared to 66 per cent earlier, recording an increase of seven per cent.


The campaign recorded an extraordinary crowd and participation on social media, attaining over half a million communications and exchanges worldwide on different platforms, while the reach rate exceeded half a billion.
