World’s first ‘Zootopia’ zone comes to Shanghai Disneyland

 Shanghai’s Disneyland will be the home to the world’s first Zootopia-themed land which will bring the characters and stories alive from one of The Walt Disney Company’s newest and most popular animated films- Zootopia.

After the opening of the Shanghai Disneyland in 2016 this will be the second major expansion and it will be eighth themed section at the world’ newest Disney park.

This will be the second major expansion of Shanghai Disneyland, which has welcomed millions of guests since its successful opening in June 2016. Zootopia will become the eighth themed section at the world’s newest Disney park, and the first anywhere with a Zootopia theme.

Bob Chapek, chairman of Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products of The Walt Disney Company was thrilled to announce that Shanghai Disneyland will be home to the world’s first Zootopia-themed land.

The company’s commitment and confidence through the rapid expansion at Shanghai Disney Resort predicts about the company’s future development in China.

The growing consumer demand for themed entertainment in China will be met by its opening as the announcement comes less than a year after the opening of the resort’s first major expansion Disney·Pixar Toy Story Land.

Shanghai Disneyland will feature this new major attraction that will showcase  Disney’s storytelling abilities with the state-of-the-art technology to bring alive the popular movie and its character so that visitors can have an immersive experience of the mammalian Zootopia.

Yang Jinsong, chairman of Disney’s Chinese joint venture partner for the Shanghai Disney Resort – the Shanghai Shendi Group stated that after the resort opened  in 2016, Shanghai Disneyland has gone from strength to strength and continues to expand.

Being one of the fastest growing Disney park and one of the most visited leisure destinations in the country the new expansion will provide the guests with rich offerings and heighten the market competitiveness.
