WTM Latin America 2024 Attracts Record-Breaking 29,000+ Travel and Tourism Professionals in São Paulo

A little over a week after it ended, WTM Latin America 2024 has disclosed the event’s statistics on April 26th, establishing it as the largest edition so far.

The event, held from April 15th to 17th at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, drew 29,247 tourism professionals, driven by its technical program and networking opportunities.

“This represents a total increase of 8.1% compared to 2023, surpassing the estimated growth by 3.1%,” reports Bianca Pizzolito, Head of the event. She further adds, “However, when we filter through the perspective of participation from members of the Buyers’ Club, Hosted Buyers, and Road Agents, the increase between the 2023 and 2024 editions rises to 21%.”

Hosted Buyers saw a 36% increase to 75 participants this year, up from 55 in 2023. National operators in the Buyers Club numbered 2,973, a 26% rise from 2,362 the previous year. Additionally, the number of Travel Agents attending increased by 16%, from 6,947 in 2023 to 8,029 in 2024.

The event’s tools like Connect Me and Emperia also showed improvements. ConnectMe, used for arranging meetings, facilitated 6,903 meetings in 2024, up by 9% from 2023. Emperia, which helps capture important visitor data, registered 46,862 leads, up 42% from 32,959 last year.

“Emperia allows exhibitors to scan visitors’ badge QR codes and access data provided by visitors when filling out participation forms, such as geographical area of interest and business segment.  This enables better business targeting both during and after the event,” concludes Bianca.

WTM Latin America is already set for next year, continuing as the leading B2B event in the travel and tourism sector from April 14th to 16th, 2025, at the Expo Center Norte.
