The Sustainable Hospitality Alliance and The World Travel & Tourism Council have signed a MoU, entrusting both of them to closer collaborative working, aiming on developing the environmental and social effect of the world hospitality sector.

For a more sustainable future for the hospitality industry, WTTC and the Alliance, through the MoU, have promised to showcase a more united voice, helping on new research projects that would promote an understanding of the recent trends in sustainability innovation.

Also, the two organizations will work jointly to increase awareness of new efforts and success stories, initiate new commissions and advisory committees, further advance understanding related to innovation and main sustainability indicators and collaborate on vital issues like employability of the youth, human trafficking, and climate action.

Hotels and different types of tourist accommodations like short-term rentals are getting famous in the hospitality, releasing entire local economies via close restaurants, culture, events, and music venues.
The industry, by working together, can turn into a motivating force toward a more sustainable future for the industry.

Julia Simpson, WTTC President & CEO, said that the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance has been an important supporter of their Hotel Sustainability Basics which are the preliminary steps in the hierarchy to move forward in terms of sustainability in the industry. Even though the hospitality has changed radically in all these years, and they recognize that there is still more that they can do together.
