The tourism and creative economy minister of Indonesia Sandiaga Uno said that the autonomous
region of Yogyakarta’s tourism segment backed nearly five percent to the aim of general domestic tourist activities.

Uno said that they have an aim of attracting 1.4 billion local tourists. In this situation, Yogyakarta has
considerably helped them attain the target by backing 5-7 percent of the general local tourist activities during the first part of this year.

Uno said this after designating Wukirsari Village in Bantul as one of the 75 best tourism villages in the
group of World-level Tourism Villages for Rising Indonesia, in the course of Indonesian Tourism Village
Award this year.

In connection with overseas tourists, Uno said that Yogyakarta in on the move to do well as reflected in
the province’s hotel occupancy degree, which is often seen in the highest figures all through weekends and public holidays.

The minister said that they also aim to present homestays in tourism villages as the desirable
substitute housings for travelers who are looking for a unique experience. Expectantly, they can deliver an
exciting fatigue-healing experience.

Additionally, Uno said that the Wukirsari Tourism Village holds a wide-ranging prospect that can be
developed more, since the village boasts of immense natural loveliness, cultural affluence, and diverse
original economy goods.
