On Wednesday the Jetstar passengers faced delays due to an IT outage that hit check-ins at airports across the country.
In Sydney the fog caused 90 minute delays and passengers across 15 terminals were left frustrated due to a software issue.
A Jetstar spokesman said that the outage effected a number of flights across Australia but the system had back up and was running. Although the airline wad working through a few delays but there were no cancellations.
A statement mentioned- An IT issue affected our airport systems this morning resulting in multiple flights experiencing delays of up to 90 minutes.
The technician worked in the issue and the system was now running and flight could operate normally.
It further apologized from the customers for the impact it had on their journey. Passengers were delayed by two hours due to outage and fog at the Sydney airport.
Due to the fog Jetstar had cancelled four domestic flights out of Sydney apart from that no flights were cancelled due to the IT issue and some were held on the tarmac and technicians worked on the outage.
The visibility in Sydney went down due to a blanket of heavy fog which led to flight delays of up to 90 miniute while cancelling a dozen flights on the domestic services. Delays were experienced by international flights.
A a road weather alert for Sydney was issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) which said that the fog will affect most suburbs in the city.
