Puerto Rico Joins Guam, Alaska, Wisconsin, Utah, Texas, Illinois, and More Than Forty-Three States Across the US in Facing Travel Hurdles as TSA Enforces New ID System and $45 Payment Structure This February. Starting February 1, 2026, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will roll out the ConfirmID system, requiring travelers in over forty-three U.S. states and territories, including Puerto Rico, to pay a $45 fee for alternative identity verification if they do not possess a REAL ID or other acceptable forms of identification.
