Checoury joins chief financial officer role in Kerzner

Michel Checoury has been appointed as the  new chief financial officer of Kerzner International which manages a portfolio of entertainment destination resorts, ultra-luxury hotels and residences and innovative entertainment experiences around the world.

It is under the Atlantis and One&Only brands. The appointment happens at a transformational time and the company is poised on accelerating the growth of the brands .

In February last year $1.6 billion Atlantis, Sanya resort in China with partner, Fosun welcomed the guests and joined the Atlantis, The Palm resort in Dubai.

With the opening of One&Only Nyungwe House in Rwanda, joining the collection, the One & Only portfolio is also evolving.

In the role Checoury will be developing and executing the company’s financial strategy.

Michael Wale, chief executive of Kerzner International was delighted that Michel has joined them during a pivotal time of strategic growth and further expansion of our existing brands, Atlantis and One&Only.

Michel is known for driving strong financial results in industry-leading hospitality companies. He holds an extensive luxury experience and will bring in new dimension to the leadership team. He will be supporting the fiscal discipline of Kerzner International along with supporting their global footprint.

He will oversee a portfolio of 85 properties in 27 countries,  and recently served as the chief financial officer of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts.

Checoury was excited to join the Kerzner International, he said both Atlantis and One&Only are globally recognised brands with strong financial performance.   He will be building on the long-term financial success for the company and will lead into the future.
