El Dorado County to host tourism summit for the first time

el doradoThe El Dorado County Visitors Authority will host its first Tourism Summit at the Holiday Inn Express in El Dorado Hills on January 19th. The attendees will hear from industry leaders on timely topics including the Power of Partnerships, The Dos and Don’ts of Responding to Online Reviews, How to Optimize Your Social Media and Build Your Brand and How to Get Media Attention to Help to Tell Your Story.

 

 

Lynn Carpenter, vice president of marketing for Visit California will be the keynote speaker who will share the latest travel trends and how that affects the local economy.

 

 

There will be an entry fee of $30 per person until Jan. 5 and $35 per person after that. The executive director of the El Dorado County Visitors Authority, Jody Franklin said that they have some great content at a price.

 

 

Jody also said that they want to make the Tourism Summit an annual event. Tourism is such an important part of our state, regional and local economy that they think it’s important to provide education and inspiration to the business community. For this year, the registration is limited to 100 attendees and is hoping for a good start.

 

 

The El Dorado County Visitors’ Authority (VisitElDorado) develops and implements county-wide tourism programs that position El Dorado County as a year-round travel destination that provides a quality visitor experience in alliance with the regional and state tourism agencies.
